Well, I haven't done any better this year keeping up with this blog. But I am only noticing, not beating myself up. I do a more regular blog for our book club so at least I am consistent with that,ha-ha. I guess I am busy living life and only periodically stopping to report on it. The last weekend in May I went to Chicago with 6 of my book club buddies. We went to see the Harry Potter exhibit at the Science and Industry Museum and to enjoy the city in conjunction with Darby's Birthday. Do we know how to party or what? I was a little worried about traveling with more than 4 people, but it could not have been better. One of the best trips I have taken. The last weekend in July I met Karen and Brenda in Savannah for Karen's yearly event and we made a day trip to Charleston. That was one great trip also. Then, the first weekend in October Carla, Phyllis and I went to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta and a day trip to Santa Fe. The weather was gorgeous and the area was in full fall color. It was relaxing, exhilarating and inspiring!
Amberly is 20 months old. Unbelievable how fast it goes. She is walking and saying her first words. She laughs a lot and loves her Veggie Tales! I'm losing track of time but I think Kyle and Cascha have just finished their 2nd year in Sullivan, Missouri. They bought a house recently and really love their lives there. Lauren and Sean moved back to Austin this past December from their year in Buenos Aires. Emily is a Junior at UT.
And we are coming up on the end of another year. I've got my house up for sale. It feels the timing is right to "right size" my life. I've loved being in this neighborhood, in this home and I hate to leave it, on one hand. But on the other, it is too big, too much yard and needs work that I just don't have the time or energy for anymore. A smaller, newer place will give me more freedom and fewer things on my "to do list" for sure. I want to spend more time traveling and on my art and not so much tied to the obligations of an older home. So, life goes on and everyone continues to move through their phases and all is right with the world.
