The Grand Canyon

This year certainly is moving fast! April has been an excruciatingly busy month at work and part of that required me to take a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona for a work meeting. Brenda met me out there and we spent the weekend in Sedona and at the Grand Canyon before coming home. Northern Arizona is a breathtakingly beautiful place and I do believe that Sedona rivals the Grand Canyon - I'd be hard pressed to say which I liked best. Karen had planned to join us but got caught in the Amercian Airlines snafu. We'll hook up again at the end of July in Park City, Utah. Amberly celebrated her first Easter. My flickr blog has been updated with photos and you can access it by clicking on the slide show at the bottom of this page.

Easter Weekend

My friend Carolyn's daughter, Ashley, decided to get married in Las Vegas Easter Weekend so Carla, Debbie and I decided to join her on the trip. We had so much fun. None of us are gamblers but there is plenty to see and do. The wedding was at Red Rock Resort which is lovely and west of the strip about a half an hour. Vegas has some really beautiful hotels, some awesome food, great shopping & shows. Something for everyone. Our refrain became, "if I come back, which I am not, I would do this or that." Right now I cannot tell you what was so funny but some moments we laughed until we cried. We did ride the roller coaster at New York, New York and were disappointed to find they no longer had one at the top of the Stratosphere. We had some great meals at Wynn, Belaggio and Paris. But surprisingly enough, I think our favorite meal was the BBQ combo platter at Harely Davidson's Cafe. We were not expecting that.

On another note - Amberly is one month old today. Kyle has updated her pictures on their web site and you can catch the link below. I noticed that Lauren has more photos on her flickr site and that link is also below. Hope everyone had a happy Easter.

Meeting Amberly

The trip to Sullivan to see Amberly was a quick one, but the immediate family is going up in shifts so as not to overwhelm the new family. Click on the link to your left to view more photos. She is very beautiful and very sweet as you might imagine and I know we're all going to love getting to know each other.

I am off to Sullivan today to get my first peek so there will be more photos and story to follow! I am letting everyone know you can call me granny or grandma once. After that I will only answer to GiGi. ha-ha.

The New Year Brings Exciting News

While Kyle and Cascha await the birth of their baby girl in late February, Lauren and Sean have moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina! It all seemed to happen rather suddenly. They found jobs and left today (Jan. 16). Jamie has taken a great little apartment in downtown OKC and today started her new job at FOX. Emily is starting her 2nd semester at UT in San Antonio.

It has happened. Our kids are succesfully launched into their adult lives. It seems a little impossible and yet here we are. All the babies have grown up, having babies of their own, birthing relationships, careers, and education. Lauren and Sean have their own blog site and I've posted a link to that here so you can keep up with their adventures in South America. On the blog are links to their pictures.

I will happily post any updates on other family members as well as pictures if you'll send them to me. I think this can be a fun and easy way to stay in touch. With so many of us moving to various parts of the world it is harder and harder to get the group together.

I think that's enough for one day! ha-ha. Hope all is well with everyone else and that the new year is treating you kind.
